This is my first image of 2026, and it felt like the perfect way to start the year. After last night’s snowfall, I headed out just after sunrise, the trail untouched and quiet in that soft winter light. I took a small detour, hoping the screech owl might be on its usual roost, soaking up the morning sun. A simple walk turned into a small moment of luck — and it already feels like the year is off to a good start. Happy New Year.
